Ethical Considerations for Evaluating Property Claims in the Post-COVID Era

Questions concerning the safety of a scene have come into play during the recent pandemic. This course will provide attendees with ethical principles required to be successful in claims handling, scene preservation and evidence handling and collection during COVID-19. This course is developed for insurance claim professionals from the perspective of one of Envista’s practice leaders, Terence Kadlec, along with Liberty Mutual's Chelsea Fowler, a New Product Specialist. Terence and Chelsea will discuss the key ethical principles and challenges COVID19 presents that every claims adjuster and litigation professional needs to know, as well as strategies for making good decisions when handling claims for successful and ethical resolutions.

About the Speakers:
Terence Kadlec is Envista’s Practice Leader of the Construction and Construction Defect Group. His expertise focuses on claims and litigation, and works to help educate clients and industry professionals alike. Terence is a design engineer with a forensic engineering background, performing investigations following fires, explosions, vehicular impacts, weather/catastrophe events, building envelope deficiencies, structural failures, and civil/earthwork failures. He evaluates alleged deficiencies in civil and structural engineering matters, and has provided testimony through sworn affidavits, deposition, and trial as an expert witness.
Chelsea Fowler, CRIS is a New Product Specialist for Liberty Mutual Insurance. She has worked in environmental and construction defect claims and is now working on a short-term assignment focused on designing claims process, analytics and claim adjusting for new products and services.
